Christmas Day 2010

Thanks to the crazy sub zero temperatures all our waste water pipes have frozen solid and i was a little concerned about us all being stinky nellys for Christmas day so i resorted to bathing the girls in the living room.  Emily has always enjoyed her bucket baths, it will be a sad day when she doesnt fit anymore.
Our Lovely Christmas Tree with added home made angel on the top, pretty good if i do say so myself

 Hannah's Pile
 Emily's Pile
Emily was as excited as i hoped she would be, she really enjoyed sitting in bed and exploring her stocking which bought us enough time for a quick cup of tea.  When we came downstairs she was a little concerned that Santa had left the magic key behind, i think she thought he needed it to get into other peoples houses too.
Hannah is up to speed with the present thing following her birthday only a couple of weeks ago, she was straight in there although she still needed allot of help from her more than willing big sister.
EMily got lots of presents but among them was a box of 3 silver rings which she wore for the rest of the day.
She was really excited about the box of flower fairies thank god, i had worried that after all my nights on e-bay may have been wsted but she was really pleased and kept saying "just what i wanted!"

Hannahs favorite present was a big bag of chocolate buttons from Auntie Celia!

Santa left a big present in the kitchen for Emily, she was really pleased with her rocking horse and every time she comes in the kitchen now she jumps on for a quick go.
Nanna & Grandad bought her a keyboard from mothercare that we have to drag her away from when we are in the shop, she is made up with it, especially the micraphone.
Hannah got a Rainbow Aqua-doodle and a roll arounds dino and a little piano with moving characters which she loved and was dancing to instantly.
Later on Daddy assembled Hannah's trike and i am really please that she is perfect size for it and really liked being strapped in, i was worried she wouldnt like it as usually she does everything she can to get out of straps hehe
EMily also got Jolina Ballerina, this gift was an afterthought when i realised she didnt have a great deal she could play with on her own without it being too small for Hannah or too loud when Hannah is napping, i had originally bought this for her birthday but im glad i gave it to her, she loves her and is taking her everywhere with her and talking to her and even letting her ride on her rocking horse!
On Boxing Day Emily invited Nanna round to watch her puppet show.

It was a really great Christmas, very magical, everything went as planned and both girls had a great couple of days, it was deffinatly worth all the stress and i cant wait till next year!

Preperation for Santa!

Even though iv been counting down the days and been telling Emily all day that he is coming tonight it didnt really seem to register till tea time and she started getting very hyper and excited.
We all gathered round to watch Santa's message that he sent, her reaction was very similar to last year, she was a little bit spaced out, and shy and wasnt sure what to say about it but when she watched it a second time she enjoyed it more but was concerned that he didnt mention anything about Hannahs bike that she asked for on her behalf.

She selected which mince pie to put out and insisted on 3 carrots for some reason hehe
I just put her up to bed and she is worried that if she is too excited to sleep he might not come bless her.

Iv been suprised at Hannah this year, i wasnt expecting much with her only just turning 1 but she gets very excited and laughs when she sees a picture of Santa, i think its probably because we have so many musical and dancing Santas about she just thinks he is hillarious.

I cant wait for morning, if i wasnt so dog tired id be worried about getting to sleep myself hehe

What a year!

Emily just asked me if i thought she would still be on Santa's Good Girl list this year, i assured her that i thought she would be and we started recalling all the times she has been exceptionally good this year and i only wish i could afford to double her present pile when i think what she has been through this year!

1) She has had to adjust to having a new baby sister on the scene
2) She had to deal with Hannah getting allot of attention when she was diagnosed
3) She had to live at Nannas for almost 6 weeks on and off when Hannah was in and out of hospital
4) She had two majour bouts of sickness and Diarrhea and was such a good girl
5) She has been in and out of Nursery and Dance Schools and never created a fuss
6) She has never had a tantrum when we had to leave somewhere she wanted to stay
7) She has given up her dummys and is fully toilet trained
8) She was a big brave girl when she had her jabs even though the memory still upsets her
9) She has helped mummy look after Hannah after her operation
10) She has reminded me and help to put Hannahs scar oil on etc

Not including things like when her poorly Guinea pig had to go back to the shop and things like that.

I cant believe what a fantastic little girl i have, i worried for 9 months about how a new addition was going to effect her but to have to deal with all she has done and still worship Hannah is amazing!

She is so protective of her, dont get me wrong she occationally has a little jellous moments but 98% of the time she is amazing with her sister.

This is a picture of the two of them side by side in the trolly at Sainsbury's, Hannah was a little tired so Emily cuddled her most of the way round the supermarket, i love these girls with everything that i am!

Return to work...

Well this is the end of my first week back at work and i cant praise the girls enough, they have been brilliant for Nanna, no problems while iv been out at work apart from they are waking a little earlier than usual but i had expected that as Emilys subconcious is aware that i leave early so i think they are disturbed easily but im sure that will settle after a couple of weeks.

Its lovely to come home from work and be told that they have been good girls and they are both very pleased to see me when i come in.

I love my little princesses!

Hannahs 1st Birthday!

Well what a year its been but our little baby angel is now 1 year old!
She had a lovely day that started off with opening some presents after breakfast which kept both her and Emily very busy all morning, she got a new toy phone and a boot house with little people in and our friends Graeme and Gail got her a lovely fisher price train zoo which she loves!
Later Nanna and Grandad brought round a wooden trike and trailer which she took to immediatly and was happily riding backwards and forwards on all by herself!
Later on we had a small tea party at Nannas house, Auntie Marie and crew, Auntie Shell and crew, Cath and Lottie all came along and had a fantastic time.  Hannahs really enjoyed the buffett and spent most of the party dancing and bum shuffling mingling with her guests hehe
I was a bit dissapointed she didnt blow the candle as we have been practising blowing for weeks now and every other time she has done it but never mind the other kids helped out.
Im so proud of Hannah she is growing into a very loving comical and cheeky little rascal, she is very entertaining and her favorite thing in the world is loves and kisses.  Now she is more confident with her toddling about the temper i had worried about seems to have died down a bit too which is great!
Happy Birthday Princess!

Sledging!

This weekend Ross and Lia came to visit and on the Saturday we had nothing planned so i decided we would all go to the park sledging.
I was trying to find something waterproof that Emily could wear and jokingly decided to try on Hannahs snow suit which is a bit too big for her and it fit Emily!
Unfortunatly poor Hannah had to stay home with Nanna as there was no room in the car and she is a little bit too young for sledging.
First we stopped off at the garden centre which was brilliant as they had a great big inflatable Santa and Snowman outside and inside it was like a big grotto with decorations everywhere.  Unfortunatly they only had the round skid sledges so we gave in and bought two of them and nipped home for Emilys sledge then onto the park.

Emily was a little unsure at first about the idea of going down the big slopes but after a ride down with me on the sledge controlling our speed as best i could she loved it!  She didnt attempt to ride down on her own but was more than happy to go down even the fastest slopes with me Lia and Daddy.

Then Aunty Rie and the gang came which added to the fun but after an hour in the park we were all wet and cold, especially Emily so we got back to the car as fast as we could and headed home to get snuggled up on the sofa with blankets.  Emily says she had a brilliant time and cant wait to go again!

Finally Lots of Snow!

Well iv been chcking every morning out of the window and was very pleased to find 5 inches of snow had settled last night so after breakfast we got all wrapped up in our warmest stuff and went out to play!

When we got outside however i was a bit suprised to find the snow was too dry... yes too dry.. i tried 5 times to make the beginings of a snowman but the snow just wouldnt ball together, i felt like such a failure, deffinatly a first for me, iv never seen snow like it so i resorted to trying Emilys suggestion of snow castles instead of sand castles which worked brilliantly so i got a bit carried away and attempted to make an igloo.  It didnt get very far though as i couldnt figure out how to put a roof on it so the following day i went out and turned it into a snowman.

2 Dec 2010

What to do when its horrible outside?

Well it has been sleet/snowing for 2 days now and we are very dissapointed that its bad enough to keep us indoors but not deep enough to go and play in so today we decided to set up the bedroom and play shops.  Emily loves role play and really gets into character and she makes me laugh with her outragous prices, however she always gives me more change back than i paid her in the first place hehe!

Hannah sat trying to untangle the plastic necklaces for ages then bum shuffled into the shop and took on the role of Emilys shelf stacker.

When we got bored of playing shops Emily set up her pot tea set and i brought us a picnic of cheese sandwiches and magic stars!

Emilys letter to Santa

Today we decided to write a letter to Santa, Emily told me what to write and i wrote as fast as possible to keep up.  Then when i had finished she drew a lovely picture on the back for Santa..

Very Creative Day

On wednesdays i try to think of something to entertain Emily without allot of walking or burning energy as she has dancing at 4pm so today we got out the craft box and started making some paper chains ready for Christmas. Although it took ages to make it long enough for what we wanted Emily stuck with it with a little bit of help from me and she was really proud when i put them on the ceiling

Then i had a look online to see if there was anything else we could make out of paper and hang from the ceiling and found 3D snowflakes.  Unfortunatly when it was folded it was too hard for Emily to cut with her safety scissors so i had to do all the cutting and Emily concentrated on decorating them, we made 4 in total to hang between our garlands.
When she got bored of that we made salt dough shapes so we can later turn them into tree decorations, the take hours to bake off in the oven so she had to wait till after dancing to paint them and as we made tonnes of dough she is only half way through painting them but im going to put the rest away for another day when she is fed up.

All in all she has had a fantastic day!

Emilys deep thinking

I was chatting to Emily today and i asked her if she thought she would get married and have babies and she looked at me with ever increasing water build up in her eyes and said "I dont think i want to get married and have babies mum" so i asked her why not to which she replied "im worried about how horrible it might be to get them out.."

Poor little love! she looked like she was going to burst out crying, i dont know where she has got these thoughts from, she is aware that mummys have to go to hospital so nurses can help the baby out but iv never given any hint of how horrible it is bless her heart, i told her thats not something a 3yr old should be worrying about hehe

Cheeky Monkeys

Today we decided to go to Cheeky Monkeys with Nanna, Auntie Shell and Liam, we love going during the week when it is nice and quiet and its a brilliant place for Hannah to practice her walking as everything is padded there is very little danger of her hurting herself. She loves the little prams there and once she gets hold of one its a nightmare to get her to let go of it again.  She must have walked miles up and down and has even mastered turning to avoid things

She loves to be up and about like a big girl and hates it when she has to be put in her walker at home when im busy, she got a little bit fed up the other afternoon so i got her all dressed up in her winter togs and reins and we took the toy shopping trolly for a walk outside the front of our house, she had the most serious look on her face the whole time, she looked very funny!

My Special little Hannah

Hannah is very cute and very funny, she is a born entertainer and loves to please and make people laugh.
She is fiercy independant and wants to grow up too fast, She is for the most part a very happy and contented little girl but also has a little bit of a temper which stems from her eagerness to achieve independance.

She loves her comfy low chair and has most of her bottles relaxing in it which is sad as i love to have bottle cuddles but she is far too nosey and a fidget bum
She loves her food and will try anything you give her but will blow it back out with a raspberry if she finds it not to her liking.
She loves technology especially phones, baby monitors or anything that will make a noise when you press the buttons.  I cant have a phoncall in peace without her following me round like a puppy reaching out for the phone.
Her favorite colour is without a doubt red!
She idolises her big sister and is always happy when Emily is happy.  She loves to join in with everything she can, Emily is the funniest person in the world as far as she is concerned
She loves to sleep with her bedtime teddy or a blanket up close to her face, she has a fantastic routine and is very easy to settle and always sleeps the clock round
She is a fighter and my very special angel, we are so blessed to have her as part of our family and there is not a day goes by i dont quietly thank my lucky stars that everything turned out alright
Her favorite teddy is Lamby, she was given lamby as a gift during one of her hospital stays at Easter and he is a firm favorite in te toy box, we have come very close to losing him on a number of occations but im happy to say he always turns up.

Her favorite game is peekaboo and her favorite foods are Banana cerial, sweet potatos and carrots.
She loves to dance and has perfected a number of different arm movements and bum wiggles and whenever she hears music she cant help herself.
Her favorite rhyme is Barber Shop and her favorite tv programme is Ballamory.

Hannah is an absolubte pleasure, she is a social butterfly and loves to make people laugh, she is going to be very smart and knows how to manipulate a situation to her advantage.

How i got so lucky to have another gorgeous little girl i will never know!
