Leg Pains

Poor Emily!!
I must have totalled about 3.5hours of broken sleep if that last night, my poor little princess was screaming in pain saying her legs hurt so i gave her some calpol and sat for hours rubbing her calf muscles while she was snoozing and sobbing at the same time. According to the internet its very common for kids of this age to get growing pains! She has been crawling about all day refusing to put any weight on them so iv let her rest them but managed to trick her into standing up properly by letting her do the washing up for me at the big kitchen sink and she is finally walk/limping again.

Hope this phase doesnt go on too long im so tired!

Surestart Centre

Well thanks to Nanna we have found a lovely little playgroup on a wednesday that Emily is now attending. She has only been once but loved it, iv never seen her so animated, as the group runs 1-3pm i cant make it for the first half at the moment so Nanna is taking Emily for the first half and im going as soon as i finish work at 2 but im only at work for another 2 weeks so when the group re-starts up after christmas i will be able to go along for the full session.

The children have full access to painting, water-play, roleplay area and toy kitchen, a train set, stickle bricks and plastic animals. Emily couldt wait to show me everything she had been playing with when i arrived. Then the organisers tidied up and it was snack time where the children had bread sticks chopped fruit and a yoghurt each. After snack time is song time on the carpet as a closing for the day.

Emily makes me so proud, she has such a lovely singing voice and was joining in at the top of her voice without being shy at all.

Im really pleased about the group because its a good starting base for her before i enrole her in proper nursery and gives me a chance to observe her with other children and teach her how to deal with arkward situations before i have to leave her at pre-school.

They say TV rots the mind ...

In the car on the way back from the shops Nanna was singing "wiggly woo"
Emily: "Wiggly is a worm"
Me: "Thats right darling"
Emily: "Worms make compost.."
*I looked a mum and smiled in amazement*
Emily: "Its stinky"
Me: "What kind of things can you put in the compost Em's?"
Emily: "Fruit and Berries.."
Me: "very good!, Hey can we put potato peelings in the compost?"
Emily: "Yes mummy"
Me: "How about a plastic bottle?"
Emily: "No way!"
Me: "so where can we put it?"
Emily: "In the recycling!"
She never fails to amaze me, shes so smart!

Nom Nom!

Im so pleased with Emilys best eating day ever! Shes had Cerial, Toast and peanut butter, Pizza, 1.5 Fish shapes with sweetcorn and peas, a few chips and half a packet of choclate buttons! She probably wont eat till Friday now!

Walk in the park

Me, Emily and Nanna went for a walk in the park to feed the ducks and collect leaves yesterday.
She was off in front telling us which way was best to go being the leader as per usual.
Nanna stopped to pick a butercup to go in the collection and Emily said "Oh come on Nanna you silly old woman"
I was horrified and nearly lost my jaw on the floor but then i realised that Nanna often tells Emily "im just an old woman you know"
Hahahaha
Luckily Nanna knows Emilys nature and just laughed

Kick or Pain?

A few days ago Emily was doing the usual, "hmm im going to play with this " *drop* "no i might play with this" *drop* "oh how about this" *drop*
I explained to her that now mummy's belly is getting bigger its difficult for me to bend over and she was going to have to start picking things up and putting them where they live.
Emily- "sigh oh mum your a kick in the backside.."
Me- " Sorry darling what did you say"
Emily- looking slightly worried that she may be in trouble "your a kick in the backside?.."
It was very hard not to laugh, im sure she has heard me call the dogs a pain in the backside on numerous occations lol

Second Scan

Scan went really well but unfortunatly baby was hiding behind my bladder, the poor sonographer tried and better tried but couldnt get a decent picture but never mind was great to see on the screen
