The sun broke out today and we managed to get up to about 10 degree's, it was lovely but fresh out, the birds was having a little sing song and the morning had been and gone doing the supermarket run for "back to school" tomorrow so i decided to put the enclosure back on the trampoline and let the girls have half hour of fun.
Lia came this weekend so after i put the enclosure on (which took nearly 45mins!) i set a couple of garden chairs up in the entrance of the garage made us a cup of tea and helped the girls up and zipped them in.
All was going great, sat down took a sip of my tea just as i looked up Hannah fell sideways and landed flat on top of her left arm and burst out crying!!
I got her straight off, Emily looked very concerned as like me she knows Hannah doesnt normally cry like that, she was seriously upset, big fat tears and snot everywhere.
I had a good look at her wrist, checked her fingers were moving, all fine but when i tried to raise her arm a little she got very defensive and said it was hurting. I sat her on Lias knee while i went to get a dummy and teddy to try and cheer her up and when i got back i held teddy up a little bit to see if she would reach up for him. She raised her arm up about half way took ted and started cuddling him so i was fairly certain nothing was broken.
A little while after i put her on the setee and asked her if she wanted a cup of tea btu when she tried to hold her tea with both hands she couldnt move her left arm and started to cry again. That was enough for me, time to go!
Dropped Emily in at Nanna's and me Dad and Hannah went up to A&E where she had 2 x-rays taken and they revealed she had indeed broken it just above the elbow!!
I burst out crying! Kicking myself for putting the silly trampoline up, started blaming myself, just feel awful, my poor baby.
She was as unruely as expected at the hospital, she was very tired by this point and didnt want anyone to touch it. The nurses put a half cast on while i tried to hold her legs still to stop her kicking the nurse. Im glad they were quick she is really really strong!
She has to go back tomorrow for a proper cast on, im glad they fit her in so soon as this temporary one is really heavy and she wont let me put a sling on her.
What a day! She seems to have settled to bed really well, luckily she is used to sleeping on her right side since i turned her cot round a couple of months ago.
Emily is terribly worried about her little sister, i think she is going to be mothering her big time for the next few weeks.
poor little mite :o( ..fingers crossed if its not quite a full break she might onye be in plaster for a few weeks .. big fat huggies and kisses from auntie shell xxxxxx

ReplyDeleteAwww. That photo is so cute, she looks really sad :-( It's not your fault though, you're a really good mum and look after your girls well. These things just sometimes happen.
