Catch Up!

Well lots of things have happened in the last 18 months and im kicking myself for not keeping up to my blog :(

Emily has had a rough time of it and lots of time off school resulting in her having her tonsils removed, she was so super brave I was very proud of her, she has also had a fractured elbow recently following a fall at school! but things are looking up and her attendance is improving.  She is doing really well in school, in fact only yesterday the head teacher pulled me over to tell me about some advanced maths papers Emily did very well with which made me burst with pride :)

Hannah attends pre-school 3 afternoons a week, she has lost allot of her fiery temper and her behaviour has improved loads! She is doing really well at learning her phonics and I am hopeful that I will have her reading stage 1 books before she starts school in September :)

We had a very muddy weekend at the farm last August, the field was a mess and probably should have been a disaster but it turned out to be one of the best farm weekends ever! The girls had such a great time and will never forget the memories of slopping about in their welly boots hehe

As I mentioned Emily fractured her elbow after a fall at school so now that's both girls had their left arm in a cast! My poor babies! She was so super brave despite lots of pain and had to have her arm cast in a really arkward position for 15 days which left her muscle strained and really sore but thankfully following a few days physiotherapy she is back to normal now :)

After Emily had her tonsils out I bought her a new bunny to snuggle for being such a brave girl, she called her Blossom and she loves her nearly as much as she loves me! Santa brought her lots of teddy clothes at Christmas and every day she changes her into appropriate clothes for the day and gets her ready for bed haha

Both girls love playing outside and anything linked to nature, they love helping me in the garden and taking their toys outside. This spring we took bowls of food coloured water in the garden and the girls collected grass cuttings and petals to make magic potions! Emily's was a love potion and Hannah's was a sleeping potion :)

They both appreciate the simple things in life and will play for hours with the cheapest silliest toys inventing games. for the most part they play lovely together. Emily always leads the games and Hannah is very good at playing along and following directions.  Hannah idolises Emily and although she often complains about her i know Emily realises how lucky she is to have her very own little play mate :)

Emily has been prescribed glasses for reading and concentrated vision, she is over the moon about it and couldn't wait to get them so she could take them to school to show her friends haha. She picked out some purple Hello Kitty frames that match her school uniform colours and looks so sweet in them :) Hannahs eyes seem to be ok so she was very upset she didn't need any real glasses so we bought her some pretend ones from the pound shop to cheer her up haha

I count my blessings every day that I have these two beautiful little people, they are my everything and I am so proud of them even if they have inherited my crazy!

Happy Christmas!

A few days ago Emily took herself off in the dining room to make Christmas presents out of the craft equipment, she made a paper concertina fish and coloured them in, a paper ring for Nanna and she wouldn't tell me what mine was, she wrapped it and put it under the tree.

When I opened it I burst out crying

It says - "No place like home"

Dont worry mummy

Emily overheard parts of a conversation she really shouldn't have yesterday about money, she disappeared into the play room and came back with a beautiful card that choked me...

and then inside...

I have the most amazing children and im so so proud of them both, we could all learn allot from Emily!

Tonsils finally out

Well we had an early start at the hospital this morning and had to starve poor Emily for her operation but she didn't complain.  I went with her down to the theatre and was with her as they put her to sleep.  She was playing a game on an I-pad and totally distracted but I was a little alarmed they administered the antithetic while she was sat up talking so she slumped like a sack of potatoes which upset me, its such an upsetting stressful experience and even though iv done it twice before it doesn't get any easier :(

Thankfully it didn't take too long before they brought her back all sleepy and feeling grotty and Nanna and Daddy arrived to spoil her with magazines and sweetys :) It was a very long day but we was finally discharged at 5pm, homeward bound for lots of TLC

Emily is Ruby the dog!

Emily was cast as Ruby the Dog in the school panto which was really great as she has has so much time off school and her attendance unpredictable I thought they may give her a minor unimportant role so it was lovely to go to the play today and watch her, she wasn't impressed that the dog suit had teddy bear ears though hehe
