Much Better!

Hannah is so much better now everything is back to normal, we are now fully weaned, into a great sleeping routine and she is a very happy baby.

I have never met such a smiley responsive baby and everyone comments on how cheery she is. She only every crys for good reason, like she is hungry or her nappy needs changing, she absolubtly hates a dirty bum and will cry the instant she has filled her nappy.

She loves her baths, especially if she gets to go in the big girl bath with her daft sister who is always entertainign her.

She has a great sense of humour and her little character is shining through, she is teething something terrible but still has not cut any teeth.

Her favorite person in the world is Emily, these two girls are like peas in a pod, they are going to tag-team me when they are older i just know it, they are as thick as theives!

Bath Crayons

Well i went in the bathroom the other day and Steve had been busy while soaking in the tub and drawn a knight on a charging horse so i figured 'Game On' let the competition comence lol
So i spent an hour in a luke warm bath determined to finish my master piece, in the process i dropped Emily's Mr Men book in the bath but it was worth it when i saw Emily's reaction in the morning It stayed on for about 2 weeks and every time Emily went in there she had a good chat with Mr Tickle lol
When she got bored of the Mr Men i scrubbed them off which took ages and an awful lot of elbow grease and drew Gossie the small yellow gosling :0)

Squiggle what ?

Emily has taken to drawing along when this programme comes on called "Squiggle It!"
The main character has a ringed notebook and crayons so iv started letting her get comfy on the setee with her stuff and she has drawn some superb things!

So i left her to it yesterday while i made Hannah a feed in the kitchen..
"Mum.. iv accidentally not on purpose drawn on the setee"
(shouting back from the kitchen) "its ok darling dont worry i will sort it"
I cam eback in the room sat on the floor and fed hannah, glanced up at Emily who is holding a biro .... must have snook in her pencil case at some point eeek
"Emily sweety where did you accidentally draw?"

She moved to the side and showed me a lovely umberella she has drawn on the back cushion of my cream leather setee!! eeeek!!

That will teach me to take my eye off the ball huh

No more dance class

Well we took Emily to dancing class in her new leotard that arrived via e-bay this morning and her new ballet shoes we bought from the proper dancewear shop in Ossett.

She had a really good session but i was watching her feet and although she didnt complain i noticed her shoes looked rather tight over the bridge of her foot.

Anyway later on i had a conversation with the teacher about it and she agreed they looked too narrow and got the second hand cast off box from the back to have a dig through, she told me earlier it wouldnt be a problem as they would buy the shoes off me and i could buy some out of the box.

Well Emilys new ones cost about £8 so i thought ok well if they buy them off me for £4 and i have to buy some out of the box so long as they are comfy it doesnt matter.

So she comes with this box holding up two dirty worn pairs of dance slippers and started trying them on Emily whos face lit up straight away because they fit like comfy old slippers, even tho they were very worn i said ok how much are they, she said "just £5" i thought cheeky mare but never mind and gave her the fiver, she then scooped up Emilys new ones off the floor and said "i will pop these ones in the box then for another little girl that they might fit.." and dissapeared with them...

Me and mum looked at each other in shock, we were surrounded by all the toffy nosed parents in the tea bar, it was all very arkward and embarasing so i said lets just get out of here and i wont be coming back!

Anyway mum to the rescue! we got outside and mum had a good look at the shoes and after picking off an old boiled sweet my mum was very cross and went marching back in to give them what for, she came back out with Emilys new ballet shoes and my £5 and gave them the filthy cast offs back...
We wont be going back!

Dance Classes

When Emily was 2 i looked everywhere for a dance/music group for her to join as she was desperate for some friends and we ended up taking her to a group called Mini Meastro's at Outwood which turned out to be a flop, the class was very limited and the majority of children were boys.

Then i started her at Surestart Nursery which was really good for her but we had to bring her out while Hannah was poorly as we couldnt risk Emily bringing home coughs and colds, now she can go back i keep talking to her about it but she doesnt seem keen and keeps telling me a story about a boy called Sam spitting on her. I did tell her that if she didnt want to go for a good reason she didnt have to go but i also explained that when she is at big girl school there wont be that choice.

Today i took her to Wilton Dance Studios for a class for 2-4yrs, it was everything i hoped it would be. There was an older class of girls just finishing up as we arrived all in lovely pink leotards and soft dance shoes, emily was amazed, she has never seen so many girls in one place before!
The group she is in doesnt tie them in to one dance style and as they get older they can take their preference which is great because at 3yr old you cant expect them to know what type of dancing they prefer. The class does a mixture of things including some ballet moves, marching, fairy dancing, stretches & jumps and pretending to be animals.

As it was her first class we got to stay and watch her, she was so brave, hardly shy at all and it didnt take long for her to settle in. It was quite embarasing at time as she was telling the dance teacher what to do and towards the end started messing about a bit hehe. Oh and half way through she stopped dead made a loud ding dong and announced that Alice had arrived hahaha.

The children sat round in a circle and took it in turns to sing a nursery ryme and Emily was so brave and sung Twinkle Twinkle all by herself, i was very proud!

Really looking forward to next Saturday now, i will be getting her a leotard and some dance shoes before next week.
