Scans

I had my first scan at 15 weeks, i remember drinking loads of water before we went to the hospital and by the time we got there i was bursting for a wee, the waiting room was so packed we had to stand and i was crossing my legs trying to concentrate on something else.

When we got in for the scan the sonographer was amazed id been able to hold in so much and said my bladder was too full and could i go try and do a half wee.... a half wee!

Well i went to the toilet and as hard as i tried i couldnt stop once id started but i must have managed to keep some in because i didnt get in trouble when i got back and the lady could see what she needed to see. Looking at you on the screen this little tiny thing with a fluttering heartbeat was when it all became a bit more real, it was amazing to see you jumping about and stretching.

I was 22 weeks pregnant when we got to see you again, this time was even more amazing than the first time, we could make out everything! I could tell from that small black and white picture what a beautifull face you had and was so excited to meet you. Im so glad we didnt find out you were a girl as i like suprises!

Pregnancy

I couldnt wait to start showing a baby belly, iv always been facinated with pregnant women and always wanted a big round belly of my own.
Despite my initial worries about pregnancy the weeks went by smoothly with no real sickness or troubles and when i did get my baby bump i couldnt have been prouder and found it very difficult not to keep stroking it all the time.
Towards the end i started getting lots of heartburn which is said to be a sign of a baby with plenty of hair. I couldnt get to sleep unless i had 2 ice-pops before laying down and it was getting very uncomfortable to lay down.

I remember one time i was coming home through the back gate and Romeo came running at me, i tried to lift my leg to sheild you from him jumping up and the sneaky little thing snook behind me and jumped up at the back of my other leg taking me down, i landed right on top of him with a heavy thud! Poor Romeo! good job i did land on him or i would have no doubt done my bottom a great deal of damage. I have no idea how he came out of it unscathed!

Positive!

I will never forget how excited i was when i saw those two blue lines .. i didnt believe it so i did another test, and another, and well another...
I remember coming home from work with one of the tests wrapped in paper and i handed it to your Dad who was legged on the setee watching TV as it was his day off, he opened it looked at me and asked me what it was, im guessing he had never seen one before, when i explained he was thrilled and gave me a great big hug and a kiss.
At first we planned to keep it to ourselves but i knew we wouldnt be able to so we went straight round to Nanna & Grandads for a cup of tea and told them the happy news, they were both thrilled for us.
In total i think i probably completed 12 pregnancy tests but i still didnt believe it was true till the doctor said "congratulations!"
