Crayons

I was getting Emily ready to go shopping today and she didnt want to go because she was busy colouring in, i told her she could continue when we got back. She then asked me while i was putting her coat on, "Can i take my bloody crayons with me?" :-o
I must be more carefull what i say around her!

Weekend in Grimsby

On the 28th March we took Emily to visit some good friends of ours who we met online called Ross & Lia. Emily was very excited to meet thier new baby kitten Arora

She had a great time running about playing with the kitten and causing havoc, i think Arora enjoyed having someone to play with that never seemed to get bored hehe

The following day the sun was out, the weather was lovely so we took Emily down to Cleethorpes seafront for the day.

After grabbing some Chippy for dinner we headed down to the amusements and Emily went on just about every ride available, and she even let me put money in to make them go!

Then we had a quick half hour on the beach and Ross helped Emily build a sandcastle which she then destroyed as soon as he lifted the bucket.

After an Eskimoo for the adults and an icecream for Emily we had a quick browse round the market and a cup of tea in the cafe, Emily was falling asleep so we decided to go to Cue-World for a few games of Pool before heading home.
We had a lovely weekend!

Water Baby!

On the 20th March we took Emily to the swimming pool for the first time.

As i had never really taken a baby swimming before i wasnt too sure what to expect, although we have never yet had any accidents in the bath i didnt know how we would go on in the pool.

I explained to Emily that the swimmers nappy i was putting on her was'nt a free license to fill it and that if she needed the toilet she must must tell me.

She absolubtly loved the pool and was very brave, she didnt have her floatation jacket on for very long and was quite comfortable hopping up and down in the pool so long as me and Daddy were close by.

We must have been in there about 45 mins, still having a wonderful time when suddenly Emily burst out crying, so much so i couldnt work out what she was saying, i thought maybe she had caught her foot on a sharp tile or something so i lifted her up and calmed her down enough to hear her .. "I need a poo!, that means i cant swim anymore! *sob*"

I told her that we could go to the loo and come back but by the time we queued her little jaw was chattering away and my belly was rumbling so we decided to get dressed and go to the cafe for burger and chips.

She cant wait to go again :0)

Cannon Hall Farm

Me and Daddy took Emily to the farm today, it was a lovely day, we had a great time, loads of baby animals to see including pigs, sheep and goats. They also have a huge play area, im not sure who enjoyed it most, Emily or Daddy!

Daddy showed Emily how to milk the plastic cow (squirts water) as you can tell from her face she was a little weirded out by this hehe

Then she made friends with a funny bunny. I tried to tell the farmer that i thought his Rabbit was escaping but apparently he always climbs out and sits on the pen wall "its his favorite spot"
He was very sociable.

She even got to feed the sheep, which was as slimey and gross as you could imagine but she thought it was fabulous!

Parking!

Me and Nanna had been thinking it might be a good idea to take Emily to the park as she hasnt been for a long time, but on the way past in the car i could see it was heaving and remembered it was half-term and not such a good idea.

So instead we took her to the play area in the middle of Lupset, which as it happens had far more facilities than the one in Thornes Park.

Anyway after about 20 mins we was awfully cold, our cheeks were chapped and a dirty big grey cloud was forming overhead so i told Emily it was time to leave.

To which pouting at me with her gorgeous little face she announced "aww mum im just Parking, i love Parking mum!"

Cheeky Monkeys

Me and Nanna took Emily to an indoor play area today called Cheeky Monkeys, apart from a very brief visit when she was about 14 months old when she fell over on a plastic see-saw and put her bottom teeth through her top lip she hasnt really been to one yet.
Well she was very excited when we arrived, there was kids everywhere, screaming running about .. the little heathens. Not a good idea to go to such a place on a Saturday it turns out.
This place was great apart from the fore-mentioned brats everywhere, the facilities were great and lots to do for a child of Emily's age.
She is still quite shy with other kids and was like a little lost soul till i went in and rescued her but to be fair on her, these kids even intimdated me!
I think she had a good time though, she certainly burned off some energy and flaked out in the car ..

Meet Frosty

Fancy us getting real snow for a change it was lovely fluffy, clean, deep and fun!
While Emily, Nanna and Grandad waited for me to get home from work, Grandad made a great sledge out of a plastic storage box which worked a treat!

Then of course i had to build Emily a snowman, which she thought was fantastic :0)

To say she wasnt cold, "im not cold Mummy, im just playin snow!" she took some warming up when i finally convinced her we deserved a cup of tea for our hard work.

After a strip down, dry and a packet of crisps and a hot water bottle from Nanna she was good as new!
